By now you will know that we are huge fans of KRISTOPHER, having featured his powerful and emotive cover of Ariana Grande’s Into You, as well as the intimate and evocative, Indigo Sky, so when we heard that the visionary rising artist had just released Swear to God, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Enticing us with an organic, guitar soundscape, KRISTOPHER opens Swear to God with super emotional prose as he sings, “Every night gets worse, bleeding on the floor…”
The opus expands with introspective depth as KRISTOPHER “journeys into the inverted emotions of abusive relationships.” We learn that the song is designed to “tackle the loneliness of feeling different and wanting to change to earn the love of others.”
Speaking on the release, the talented artist confesses, “With Swear to God, I wanted to shine a light on the lie that you need to change for someone else to feel worthy.”
The star continues, “I have struggled with the feeling that I needed to change in order to please others, even God. Having a part of my identity rejected made me want to do everything I could to make it right.”
There is no doubt that Swear to God has a universal message of the importance of unconditional love and acceptance, and the harm that is done in its absence, and we appreciate how KRISTOPHER is sharing activism through his artistry.
KRISTOPHER tells us, “This will definitely be the darkest song released so far as I wanted to share a raw and more emotionally vulnerable side of me.”
We love what KRISTOPHER is creating, and have added Swear to God to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his expanding discography!
