LearningToDive aka Bravo Bonez returns with cerebral commentary on gaslighting, Trust in Me

We previously featured LearningToDive as he shared his profound perspective on the global bloodshed and corruption with the evocative and subversive, Drums of War, so when we heard that the visionary and progressive artist had just released, Trust in Me, we were curious to say the least!

Enticing with an astral, echoing guitar and dimensional bassline, LearningToDive, also known as Bravo Bonez, opens the single with atmospheric vocals and the title of the track. The artist never fails to showcase instrumental mastery, as we experience a highly unique soundscape that is genre expansive, with roots in dark wave, alternative rock and trip-hop.

The opus takes us on a cerebral journey with luscious vocal design and an atmospheric nature that feels cinematic and immersive. We love the pseudo-affirmative nuance in the prose and the overarching contemplative nature of the piece, as well as the presence of Alba Rose who shares vocal harmonies.

Speaking on the message of the single, LearningToDive simply says, “If you haven’t been gas-lit, you won’t know. This is a song for those who are being quietly persecuted, psychologically tortured by those that would control their reality in order to have power over them.” He continues, “Trust in Me is a message to gaslighting victims, that there is someone out there that believes them.”

The artist adds, “I didn’t realise at the time, but this track is somewhat influenced by the work of the late Terry Hall…ex-The Specials, Fun Boy Three, The Colourfield. This is more trip hop than ska or pop, but I feel some of the vocal delivery and production was unconsciously channelling that Terry Hall sound.”

We are informed that LearningToDive, as an identity, focuses on Bravo Bonez’s more serious thoughts and perspectives on society and the planet, which we deeply appreciate.

We love what LearningToDive is creating with his venture, his production prowess, particularly his skill with strings arrangement, is next level. Naturally have added Trust in Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream LearningToDive and Bravo Bonez‘s wider discographies!
