iamstray encourages us to enjoy life with expansive new single, Limit

Setting the tone with a cerebral, 8-bit astral synth and textured percussion, iamstray opens Limit with situational and self-realized prose before the opus expands into a math-rock energy with a nod to Brit-pop, that we cannot get enough of!

We appreciate the sonic design of the composition which is bright and dynamic, creating a divergent tapestry of sound that works seamlessly with Anders Møller-Stray‘s vocal delivery.

We learn that Limit was recorded and produced by Robert Vendetta, who we recently featured on the platform for his inspiring new single, Vacation. He and iamstray are joined by Anders Jansvik on drums!

Speaking on the release, iamstray tells us that the intention of the song is to encourage us to “enjoy life, even though the world is going in a somewhat troublesome direction. The small picture is fine, the bigger picture less so.”

iamstray cites Gorillaz, Pulp, New Order, and Graham Coxon as some of his inspirations, although there is no doubt that the rising artist is creating a unique vibe of his own.

On an anecdotal level, iamstray also confesses, “This wasn’t supposed to be a single, but people kept telling me they loved it, so here goes!”

We for one, are glad that iamstray released Limit and have added the song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream iamstray‘s wider discography, including Hard to Regret, and Without You, taken from his album, Faith and Anxiety.
