Jane N’ The Jungle return with an evocative commentary on toxic relationships, WASTELAND

We have been intently following the rise of one of our favourite bands, Jane N’ The Jungle, fronted by the charismatic and magnetic Jordan White, so when we heard that they had just released WASTELAND, we were curious to say the least.

Now it is safe to say that Jordan’s songwriting is always profound, coming from an authentic place of wisdom and lived experience, and when we heard WASTELAND in full, we were certain that this was one of her most philosophical and prophetic masterpieces.

Setting the tone with a luscious 90s grunge adjacent guitar soundscape, Jordan sings, “There’s a nothingness in La La Land, a distraction to our oblivion…”

The opus expands with metaphorical prose, as the composition takes us on an immersive and moody alternative rock journey. With reference to the lyricism, Jordan confesses, “WASTELAND is about being stuck in toxic relationships where you feel there is no way out.”

The star continues, “[It] is like the pit in your stomach you get when you know something is wrong and instead of leaving the situation you stay and it gets worse, and it becomes all you know.”

We appreciate the instrumental mastery that Jane N’ The Jungle exude on the track, and how the composition creates a cohesive tapestry of sound with Jordan’s emotive vocals and message.

Naturally, we have added WASTELAND to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate the release of the music video which showcases red tones and an exemplary performance from Jane N’ The Jungle!
