Chucky Trading Co return with a bittersweet song about the end of the cowboy era on the American prairie, Tumbleweeds

As huge fans of Chucky Trading Co, we were excited to hear their brand new single, Tumbleweeds, having previously featured a slew of their meaningful releases.

Tumbleweeds opens with strummed, acoustic guitar and elegant piano as vocalist CS Taber shares profound lyricism with the prose, “I know you’re my brother, winding down the road, I reach for your burden if you let me bear the load, I feel your restless spirit, broken and alone, but you vanished through my fingers, dust and ash and bone…”

We learn from the duo that Tumbleweeds is designed as “a bittersweet song about the end of the cowboy era on the American prairie.” Elaborating, creators CS Taber and Everett Young tell us it is with reference to “Brothers in search of a future in a modern era they don’t understand.”

The poetic flair that Chucky Trading Co is unrivalled, and we love the manner in which they bring to life a narrative. Tumbleweeds marks the pair’s fifteenth single since December 2021, and with each release, they cement their sound and expand their universe.

“I’m chasing tumbleweeds, no matter where they blow…”, sings CS on the hook with a luscious and timeless vocal timbre. We love the harmonies featured in the build of the composition, adding heightened emotion to the already moving piece.

The artists share songs that “explore love, life, and human nature”, and Tumbleweeds is another example where Chucky Trading Co convey their wisdom and authenticity.

Naturally, we have added Tumbleweeds to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Chucky Trading Co growing discography, and anticipate future releases from the stars.
