Accessories – It Is All In The Details

When it comes to accessories, there are no rules – not really; you can use them to make your outfit as loud as you like or to add tiny details that make you feel good.

Perhaps the best thing about accessories is that if you like them, you can wear them. Just like when it comes to fashion, fashion is what is on the runway, but style is personal.

But what are some of the best accessories to add details that a keen eye will notice?

Collar

Collar bars and pins are having a bit of a resurgence right now – but for many who enjoyed the 20’s until the 40’s style, they never went away. If you wear shirts often, and you don’t like that your chains are often hidden or need to hang below the first few buttons, collar pins are perfect.

If you are on a tight budget but want to try out a collar pin with a chain, you can use a pair of earrings and a thin necklace chain that you don’t use. Pin an earring on each side of the collar (it can be tough), and then place the chain.

Watch

Some people love a timepiece, others don’t – but luxury watches can add a lot to an outfit. When you have short sleeves or you like to roll up your shirt sleeves, a watch can complete the look. As an added bonus, you won’t be reaching for your mobile phone so often if you can check the time on your watch!

The great thing about watches is that you can change the strap on most of them to match your style.

Card Wallet

Carrying some change is always a good idea and something that many people don’t do anymore. There are some stunning, slim card wallets that activate at the touch of a button. Typically they can fit between 5 and ten cards in them, things like travel cards, ID cards, driver’s licenses, and more.

When you need a card, you press the small button, and the cards slide from the top, making them easy to get.

Ear cuffs

Ear cuffs are perfect for people who don’t want to commit to piercings but want to add some extra sparkle to their look. They come in a huge range of different styles. From ones that use an initial lobe piercing and then wrap their way up the ear or smaller, more delicate options.

Ear cuffs are the perfect way to add some small details.

Sleeve Garters

A throwback, but there is something about shirt garters that looks incredibly cool. Because they are seen left often, they make a quick impression. The purpose of the sleeve garter was to hold the shirt sleeve at the exact length for the cuff to sit under a jacket.

However, if you’re not wearing a jacket, they still look exceptionally cool – and you can get some to match your collar pins and cufflinks – if you like wearing a shirt.
