We first featured Barry Muir when he found a muse on his single, She’s a Little Wildflower, so when we found out that the visionary artist from Toronto had just released, Home In A New York Minute, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with a celestial frequency and luscious, acoustic guitar, Barry Muir opens Home In A New York Minute with a charismatic flow, poetic prowess and a timeless narrative as he takes us on a journey with his story.
We appreciate the vocal harmonies and the cohesive tapestry of sound that Barry generates with his artistry. He sings, “Don’t want to live in a world without her in it…”, as he seeks to reunite with the object of his opus.
Naturally, Home In A New York Minute comes with a super cinematic and trippy music video, not only showcasing a mesmerizing performance from Barry himself, but incredible shots of New York, and his muse!
Speaking on the message of the track, Barry confesses, “It’s an old saying believed to have originated in Texas comparing the laid back pace of a Texas lifestyle to the opposite in New York.”
The star continues, “It fits the song’s storyline perfectly when the singer finds himself in Texas only to realize he’s left everything behind in Buffalo and can’t get home quick enough.”
We love the sentiment and authenticity that Barry Muir conveys with his artistry, and have added Home In A New York Minute to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Barry’s wider discography including his record Gentle, and his latest album, In The Meantime!
