Fish and Scale shares his expansive wisdom on charming and connected new single, Stay!

We recently featured the talented and consciously aware Fish and Scale for his powerful single, Rumi Says, so when we heard that the visionary artist had just released, Stay!, we couldn’t wait to experience it!

Drawing us in with an enticing and emotive guitar performance, Fish and Scale opens Stay! with philosophical and metaphorical prose, laced with comedic nuance and introspective depth. We appreciate artist Roland Wälzlein‘s poetic prowess and charismatic delivery, as the song expands with textured percussion to take us on a journey through his spirit and psyche.

Speaking on the intention of his artistry, the star confesses that he “loves to touch people deeply” with his music and “evoke inner knowledge and wisdom” in his listeners. Stay! is the perfect example of that! We deeply appreciate it when he exclaims, “I’m your breath, I’m you love, I’m your every little second…” and the reassuring energy that Fish and Scale shares with his words.

Stay! comes with a mesmerizing portrait music video showcasing an epic performance from the artist, as he brings to life his message. We love the art rock energy that he shares with his latest release, and it also reminds us of Bob Dylan in his cadence and flow.

The song itself is designed as a dialogue between Fish and Scale and an “all-knowing inner entity.” He tells us, “We are all connected inside to this infinitely wise version of ourselves. It shows us the doorway to a magical place where the deep experience of happiness and love are not attached to any conditions. The path to this place does not lead into the distance, but to the here and now.”

Growing up in Franconia (a south part of Germany), as a six-year-old child, Roland survived a serious heart operation. This life and death experience stayed with him all his life, and thus existential questions are reflected throughout his lyrics. We truly appreciate the depth that he shares, and have added Stay! to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Fish and Scale‘s wider discography including his album, You Can Call Me Love.
