Well Grounded takes us on an optimistic journey with debut single, Sailing On

Establishing the mood with a cerebral synth and a vibrant guitar melody with textured percussion, Well Grounded opens Sailing On with a contemporary reggae energy and metaphorical prose.

We immediately connect with the charismatic delivery and charming flow, as well as the conceptual lyricism laced with poetic prowess and conscious themes.

We feel that authenticity come through, and the depth that Well Grounded conveys is tangible. The opening lyrics are, “It seems the world is just a prison bus, the captives is all us, and now it starts to rust. The very seats to which we are bound to, are starting to fall through, so all them friends fight and argue…”, needless to say, we are captivated.

Speaking on the release, Well Grounded confesses, “This is my first single after ten years away from music and the first as Well Grounded. I had a somewhat painful departure from recording and performing, but after years of growth and healing, it has become a meditation again and I am ready to share it with the world.”

With reference to the song itself, the enigmatic star says, “Originally, Sailing On was a lot more bleak in tone and offered the listener no relief. Now, after considerable personal growth and focus on health (in all aspects) over the last 10 years, Well Grounded felt it was necessary to outro the song with a feeling of hope and optimism. Still, the song is about how the world is illusory, that despite the fact that it is often beautiful, we are sort of trapped here, and set against each other. The song speaks to the need for salvation when none is on the horizon.”

The instrumental segment showcases a super charming piano solo with the wider construct of the sonic architecture, which leads us back to the optimistic final reprise. We have added Sailing On to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Well Grounded!
