9 o’clock Nasty return with fierce and thought-provoking new single, Disco Investors

By now, you will know that we are huge fans of the philosophical and visionary artists, 9 o’clock Nasty. Naturally, when we heard that the rising stars, who are unafraid of controversy, had just released Disco Investors, with a warped photo of Elon Musk as the cover no less, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!

A wild and vibrant guitar soundscape envelopes us before 9 o’clock Nasty open Disco Investors with the situational prose, “New in town, trickle down, got ideas, our time expert’s talk (but) talk is cheap, call the dogs, give sign…”

We are immediately drawn into the universe that the trio from Leicester in the United Kingdom are creating with their words. We understand the sentiment behind the song, and are grateful to 9 o’clock Nasty for their unapologetic perspective.

They say, “Investment for fun and wealth creation. Welcome to the world of the Disco Investors. Buy it, fuck it up, move on, repeat.” Elaborating on the message, the trio confess, “Glam rock, toxic masculinity and an unlimited supply of sugar snacks. What could possibly go wrong? Disco Investors hits hard and makes a lurching glitter-strewn getaway with mismatched high heeled boots and over-tight pants.”

With reference to their creative partnership with Hugo GT, the band say, “The song is our second collaboration with Hugo GT, a producer who makes songs sound so filthy that he is illegal in most of his home country. He never sleeps two nights in the same place, always moving, always secretly mixing and creating soundscapes that take guitars to whole new places. A compulsive muso-maniac. Probably why we get along so well with him. We are, after all, investors, and disco was the future.”

We deeply appreciate the way that 9 o’clock Nasty shine a light on the unspoken, and Disco Investors is another eye opening and thought-provoking concept, which really allows us to see the world for what it really is. This is what makes 9 o’clock Nasty so highly unique.

The anthemic nature of the opus is tangible, and we can only imagine how incredible it would be to experience a 9 o’clock Nasty live performance, full of charisma and authenticity. In the meantime, we have added Disco Investors to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the band’s wider discography! Stay tuned to their YouTube channel for the music video!
