If the recent releases of Wrap Me Up and Burned Into My Past weren’t enough, Clare Easdown shows no signs of slowing as she just released the brand new single, To The One’s I Love – so naturally, we were intrigued to hear what the talented artist had to offer!
“I feel invisible to the one’s I love” sings Clare emotively with atmospheric vocal design, as she conveys the deepest parts of her soul. The opus expands with a trip-hop meets trap beat as Clare lets those around her know that they are hurting her inadvertently. We love the use of the metaphor “your radio silence is violence”, which truly speaks volumes.
Clare tells us that she feels like an alien in this human race, and frankly we couldn’t relate more. Just as we think the track is over, we are met with a bold final reprise, which has us reaching for the repeat button.
Speaking on the message of the song, Clare confesses, “To The One’s I Love is an anthem for all the misfits, those who feel completely ignored, discarded, and excluded from the pack. You are not alone. It is a track to give power to those that don’t fit the cookie cutter mould.”
We hold the shared belief with the rising artist that individuality is the key to success and self empowerment, but often that can be met with contempt, or worse, silence, from those closest to us – be it friends or family, or both! We are grateful that Clare Easdown is using her exquisite voice to shine a light on this.
Naturally, we have added To The One’s I Love to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Clare Easdown growing wider discography!
