AMONG THE MASSES release thought provoking and immersive new single, Wrong Turn

Setting the tone with a dimensional soundscape laced with vocal samples, textured drums and cerebral synth action, AMONG THE MASSES open the Radio Edit of Wrong Turn with the evocative lyrics, “Who needs enemies when you have friends like these…”

We are immediately drawn in with the introspective depth and the accompanying dark-wave hybrid soundscape as AMONG THE MASSES share philosophical prose. It is clear that the outfit’s wider purpose is self-awareness, and the concept combined with the sonic architecture has us mesmerized.

The Swedish outfit shares poetic prowess and intricate production. We learn that its members bonded over their “mutual love of guitar-based bands like Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Television and masters of the darkness: Depeche Mode and The Cure”, although it is clear that AMONG THE MASSES are creating a universe of their own.

The Stockholm-based band tell us that their secret weapon is gold and platinum award winning producer, Andreas Ahlenius. The band currently consists of David Liebe on vocals, Andrej Anderzon Möller on piano, keyboards, programming and backing vocals, whilst Mats Gabriel-Burman plays bass and Ken Alfredsson writes the lyrics!

We love the immersive nature of what AMONG THE MASSES offers those fortune enough to listen, and we have added Wrong Turn to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography including Living in the Future, and Utopia.
