Mia Mormino returns with powerful and authentic new single, Crybaby

It’s safe to say that we are obsessed with Mia Mormino, from when she took us to another dimension on the genius, Alternate Reality, and when she released the empowering and bold, Joan of Arc, so naturally, we couldn’t wait to hear her latest release, Crybaby!

“What am I doing wrong? I put in all the hours, I write songs while I shower, but I’m still being strung along, when will be my time, I’m happy for my friends who’ve seemed to make it to the end, but my star’s slowly losing its shine…” sings Mia introspectively as she contemplates her reality with a fierce delivery and nuanced percussive elements.

The opus expands into an emotive rage-pop anthem as Mia Mormino makes it clear that she deserves more. The song acts as a manifestation tool for the rising artist, who we already know is insanely talented. We love the pulsating beat and the dimensionality of the vocals.

It is always clear when an artist writes from a passionate place, and that is exactly what Mia Mormino offers with Crybaby – authenticity. It also takes courage for an artist to publicly share their woes and insecurities, and if anything this risk has a payoff and makes us fall in love deeper with the star.

Speaking on the message of the song, Mia says, “I’ve been in therapy my entire life, and the number one thing I’ve learned is to trust the process. I implement that into pretty much everything I do that requires patience. But sometimes, it’s important and feels good to throw all of that out the window (temporarily) and throw a good old-fashioned pity party. Crybaby is my pity party anthem.”

The Los Angeles based legend fiercely adds, “I’m tired of seeing less talented artists blow up for absolutely no reason. so, i owned my anger and dumped it into this song. If you are sick of your hard work going unrecognized…this one’s for you.”

We have added the anthem to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Mia Mormino‘s wider discography including Call You Mine and Relapse.
