Sharl returns with vibrant and engaging ode to love, Mirror

We have been intently following the rise of Sharl over the last year, and have been in awe of her music videos, album and overall soundscape. Naturally, when we heard that the star had just released Mirror, we simply had to listen and feed back!

Drawing us in with a compressed vocal and dimensional beat which gains clarity after two bars, Sharl opens Mirror with the romantic lyrics, “I can tell when I look in your eyes, that today is a sun will shine, every time we stay synchronized through the ups and the downs, gonna be alright…”

Immediately we understand that Sharl is documenting an authentic love connection. We appreciate the punchy delivery cohesively fused with an elegant tapestry of sound. Sharl showcases her vocal range and gives us hope with her lyricism as she shares evocative prose about her muse.

It’s always exciting and refreshing to hear an artist share how they are in love, and Sharl does just that with Mirror. She conveys a real connection with someone, possibly a twin flame, and also demonstrates her self-referential growth, going from the music video for I Fell in Love, where we see the star engage with herself in the mirror, to this open display of affection that can also be interpreted as an ode to self love and connection with the universe.

Sharl‘s talent has been recognised through reaching the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition, as well as enthusiastic recognition from many independent blogs and community radio play. We learn that a highlight of launching her new music was performing songs from City Lights on the main stage at the Virgin Australia AFL Footy Festival in September.

We love what Sharl is creating, and have added Mirror to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her album, and anticipate future releases and her second studio album later this year!
