Setting the tone with rippling string detailing fused with immersive keys before expanding with textured drums, Tez opens What Do You Dream with atmospheric vocals and the introspective question, “What does it mean?”
The opus evolves into a thought-provoking hybrid of alternative pop and rock with profound lyricism, unique melodies and poetic nuance. Tez confesses that the track is designed as “an ode to the beauty of possibility and the potential of freedom.”
We learn that What Do You Dream was written and produced by Tez from their bedroom studio, and is the first release from their forthcoming EP, which is due to be released later this year.
We appreciate the tangible depth that Tez conveys with their authentic sound. As a creator, there is no filter on their sonic output, and that speaks volumes. The artist showcases their uniqueness through sound and prose, and we are mesmerized. The instrumental segment is exquisite with the dimensional use of a pizzicato string. The minimalist energy which allows us to connect on a deeper level with the artist is wonderful, and the final reprise bringing us back to that more dimensional vibe is exquisite.
Speaking on the release, Tez confesses, “I wanted to capture a sense of optimism, and the importance of relaxation. Something that could be a reminder to not lose sight of the beauty in life. It’s a great representation of my sound and I’m excited to share it with the world.”
