Baaj & Baaj takes us on an introspective, dark wave trip with evocative new single, I Can’t Think

Last year, we had the honour of featuring Baaj & Baaj for his emotive ode to our planet, Sweet Earth, so when we heard that at the end of last year, he also released I Can’t Think, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!

Drawing us in with a psychedelic synth and a bold, dimensional bassline with enigmatic dark wave melodies, Baaj & Baaj opens I Can’t Think with subversion and the introspective lyrics, “Sometimes I wander, I wonder if you really love me, sometimes I want her, I want her…”

The opus expands with a dynamic nature as the visionary artist shares his perspective with poetic prowess and intentional depth. The production is immersive and are love the instrumental solo fused cohesively with Baaj & Baaj‘s exquisite vocal timbre.

Described as delivering “a melodic and bewitching voice over troubling harmonies”, we concur and couldn’t agree with the description more. We learn that Baaj & Baaj is deeply influenced by 80s brit pop and new wave music which comes through in his transcendental artistry.

The multi-instrumentalist provides solace where “sweetness is dancing with deep reflexions concerning our brutal and ephemeral world”, we appreciate his depth and intentional brand of creating. I Can’t Think has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Baaj & Baaj‘s wider discography!
