Austin West shares emotive and transcendental new single, Run Home

Setting the tone with an immersive nature, intricate percussion, and a glistening synth, Austin West opens Run Home with charm and atmospheric vocals as he sings, “You asked me how I’m doing, and I’m doing alright, the separation that’s between us, oh yeah, it’s keeping me up at night…”

We are immediately drawn to the authentic emotion that Austin West conveys with the opus, the dimensional nature of the synth work and how it cohesively creates a tapestry of sound with his vocals.

Speaking on the creation of the release, Austin confesses, “I wrote Run Home with the reminiscing of missing my wife when I’m away on duty. This song is to anyone going through a hard time and wants to Run Home.”

The single marks a debut for Austin West, who elaborates on his background by telling us, “I have been an Army musician for ten years and I have been doing independent music for a year now. I’ve always loved nostalgia and synthesizers as well as the 80’s so I just mixed them all into one pot.”

The rising star cites Tame Impala, Foster the People, and Empire of the Sun as some of his influences, which we can feel come through with the composition of Run Home, although it is clear that Austin West is creating a sonic universe of his own.

We have added the luscious and transcendental Run Home to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whist we anticipate future releases from Austin West, and continue to stream his wider discography including Night Drives, and Game Over.
