Last year, we covered the release of Lethia’s Natorium‘s Inner Child, so when we heard that the talented star had also released Vinny’s Version of the magnificent song, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
The intention of Inner Child is to help us connect with ourselves, as artist Pena Hughes-John sings evocatively, “Living life when we are bound by invisible chains, when we are conditioned to behave exactly the same…“
The bold guitars of the original, are replaced here with a more minimalistic and ethereal energy. Pena’s energy remains true to the original, whilst Vinny, who is an Australian-based producer, has taken the core of the track and transformed it into a dream pop meets new wave hybrid sound with intricate production details and an atmospheric vibe.
We deeply appreciate the way that Vinny’s soundscape, fuses with Pena Hughes-John‘s passionate performance. Pena confesses that “this version was entirely mixed by Vinny” and that we can expect a remix EP, Inner Child – Remixes and then Some! Pena tells us that the EP is scheduled for release towards the ending of February and features remixes and alternative versions of Inner Child, and Tenant!
We cannot wait to hear the EP, and meanwhile, we have added Vinny’s Version of Inner Child to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Lethia’s Natorium‘s album and await the remix EP!
