Agent Envy releases powerful and assertive new single, No Friend

Setting the tone with textured drums, a metallic bell nuance and immersive guitar, Agent Envy opens No Friend with intrigue and dimensionality as she sings evocatively, “Do you remember what you said to me? Allow me to remind you once again… You turned a friend into an enemy…”

The opus explodes into a vibrant alternative rock soundscape, and we are mesmerized. We deeply appreciate Agent Envy vocal range, charisma and the poetic prowess that she shares with her prose. We learn that the message of No Friend is “enough is enough”, full of assertive metaphors and captivating lyricism from the rising artist based out of San Diego .

Agent Envy tells us that the track takes inspiration from early 2000s rock, metal, and industrial records, and that it is inspired by artists like Massive Attack and Tool along with newer artists like PVRIS and Metric, but it is clear that Agent Envy is creating a universe of her own.

Agent Envy started voice, piano, and guitar lessons, as well as songwriting and musical theatre, all at a young age, which explains her confidence and powerful delivery on the dynamic masterpiece that is No Friend. We deeply appreciate the journey that the rising star takes us on, and the peaks and troughs of emotion that further add dimensionality to the piece.

We have added No Friend to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Agent Envy‘s wider discography including My Own Summer (Shove It) and Spiral.
