Cynthia Hamar delivers dynamic and profound new single, Where Your Love Lives

Setting the tone with rippling and elegant keys, Cynthia Hamar opens Where Your Love Lives with intrigue and drama as a dimensional bassline comes into play, along with acoustic guitar and industrial percussion textures.

The opus expands with atmospheric vocals and metaphorical, yet situational lyricism as Cynthia Hamar shares her exquisite timbre and a dynamic performance fused with a dynamic soundscape.

We adore the harmonies, and Cynthia Hamar‘s unique delivery which is full of charisma. The piano performance is also simply out-of-this-world! We learn that Where Your Love Lives is sonically inspired by Nick Cave, which we can appreciate, although there is no doubt that Cynthia Hamar is creating a universe of her own.

Where Your Love Lives comes with a vintage music video showcasing not only an evocative performance from the artist, but archive footage of her reality featuring a collage of VHS home videos, really driving home the concept of the lyrics, “Home is where our love lives, Where Your Love Lives, where our love lives…”

The video was directed by Korban Hamar and edited by Jessica Lowe, and speaking on the release, Cynthia Hamar confesses, “This song took me a bit to write. I originally just started playing around with the idea of what it felt like finding your way home; what home even is. I recently had a bit of a breakdown when my niece sent me some old photos of my kids (they are 22, 21 and 20 now) and I instantly had this yearning for a home that was long ago.”

The visionary artist continues, “I still have a home, it just looks different now and empty nesting is pretty sweet. Empty nesting is a bit of a rediscovering of home as well. So….I made it into a love song for my husband. This can mean so many things and doesn’t just apply to an intimate relationship. I think this concept is what stirred up the nostalgic longings for home, our love lived there, in those moments of time and that’s what made it home.”

We love the energy and authenticity that Cynthia Hamar shares with her artistry, and have added Where Your Love Lives to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her wider discography including Great Goodbye, Shaken and Light a Fire.
