ALCHA takes us on an intricate and introspective trip with new single, Steady

We recently featured ALCHA for his poetic and immersive single, The Light Is On, so when we heard that he had also released Steady, we couldn’t wait to experience it!

Drawing us in with cerebral, panning synths, and a pulsating beat, ALCHA opens Steady with his signature atmospheric vocals and the introspective lyrics, “Hello, anyone? I don’t think I’ll get over this time… They tell me to realise my mind gets heavier each day…”

The vulnerability that ALCHA shares is moving and relatable. We love the way that his voice fuses with the cohesive tapestry of sound that he creates, and the emotional and raw nuance of his lyricism.

We mentioned before that ALCHA‘s ambition is to let us “dive into the moving picture” of his inner life, and we really feel that come through as he sings, “I keep you freaking you out with my emotion, cos you refuse to face my contradictions…”, alongside a subversive synth.

The harmonies are exquisite on Steady, and give the opus a truly transcendental edge. ALCHA, who is also known as French artist Alec Chassain, really showcases his vocal range on the composition, and his emotional delivery is simply out-of-this-world.

We have added Steady to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream The Light Is On and anticipate future releases from the talented star!
