Sharl showcases her acting and choreography on cinematic video for Outside

Following the release of Sharl’s powerful and cohesive album, City Lights, along with her introspective lead single, I Fell in Love, the rising popstar just released her latest music video for Outside!

The cinematic visual sees Sharl take on an acting role with choreography, as she literally walks into a room and through a teleportation, quantum shift moment starts performing with her K-Pop dancers, Hustle Dance Crew. It shows expansion in the talented artist who is proving that she is ready for any stage!

We learn that Sharl has taken many steps in the cultivation of herself and her music; described as “a culturally symbiotic journey only achievable by acknowledging and learning from your trials.”

The opus itself is a feel-good disco-pop song, but the video has a subversive edge and a shocking finale. Inspired by an underworld beyond the city lights, Outside’s video builds upon the urbane-disco sounds with a noir meets cyberpunk aesthetic. The video also features other local artists such as Kevin Silvester and Ash from indie band The Clever References and showcases the vision of an entirely Asian-Australian cast, crew and creative team.

The VFX really amplify the narrative and it is clear that Sharl is a visionary in her own right. We love the authenticity and passion that Sharl puts into her multi-disciplinary artistry and her growing video universe, and have added Outside to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream her album!
