Setting the tone with a cerebral, crescendoing frequency with immersive percussion detailing, before exploring into a luscious alternative rock soundscape, Throw The Roses open High And Dry with atmospheric vocals and introspective yet assertive lyricism.
The opus expands into a high octane and thought-provoking journey, as Throw The Roses take us on a subversive trip with poetic prowess, nostalgic-futurism and dimensionality.
Elaborating on the meaning of their post-hardcore release with elements of 2000s emo and nu-metal, the band from Toms River confess, “[High And Dry] is about giving up on someone after providing them with multiple opportunities to redeem themselves.”
The band features Adam Heise on guitar and vocals, Jake Goldman on bass, Rich Wahlers on vocals, Ken Garvey on drums and Brian Buczynski on guitar. They cites Underoath, Norma Jean, Slipknot, Danzig, Ween, and Drop Dead Gorgeous as some of their sonic influences, although it is clear that Throw The Roses are creating a universe of their own.
Unsurprisingly, they have been testing out High And Dry at their first sold out show in Philadelphia and the song did “extremely well with crowd reaction.” We love the emotive energy and authenticity that Throw The Roses share with their vision, and are in awe of the accompanying glitch-trip film-noir visual for the song. We have added High And Dry to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their debut single, Wayward!
