It has been a great year of professional and creative growth for Everything But The Everything with their releases of The Story, Jump and Intimacy, so when we heard that they had once again teamed up with Sophia Prise on the brand new, Never Said, we couldn’t wait to experience it!
Drawing us in with a cerebral frequency and vocal texture, Everything But The Everything opens Never Said with intrigue, dimensionality and an immersive nature. The opus expands into a luscious dark-wave energy with atmospheric vocals as Sophia Prise sings evocatively, “Nothing going in, nothing going out…”
We appreciate the moody guitars, fused intricately with Sophia’s poetic prowess and profound prose, delivered with authenticity and charisma. Her vocal range is incredible and we can imagine that fans of Kate Bush would be able to connect with Sophia Prise.
The creators cite Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, and The Cure as some of their influences for the track, which we can definitely feel come through in Never Said, although there is no doubt that what Everything But The Everything and Sophia Prise is totally unique unto themselves.
Speaking on their connection with Sophia, the band confess, “Sophia becoming more involved with Everything But The Everything has been the best thing. To know [we] can count on her like a band member is amazing, being that this band is a collaborative.”
We love what Everything But The Everything and Sophia Prise are sharing with their collective artistry, and have added Never Said to our New Music Spotlight, whilst we continue to stream their existing releases including The Story, Jump and Intimacy.
