Everything but the Everything take us on a cerebral journey with immersive new single, Jump

Giving us a rolling bass guitar fused with drums and celestial detailing, along with the positive affirmation, “yeah” repeated, we are already mesmerized by the energy that Everything by the Everything are bringing with their new single Jump.

As the song expands, we enter a fuller sonic landscape with guitar and emotive narrative-driven lyricism that reminds us of The Cure and The Smashing Pumpkins.

The composition features vocals by Danial Lannon aka Vacances, with drums by Landon Cisneros, synths courtesy of Andrew Gomez and guitars and bass guitar by the talented Izzy The Gent.

The band cites inspirations including Moving Units, Billy Idol and Depeche Mode, which we can hear come through on Jump, but it is clear they are carving a path of their own.

A lyrical highlight is the existential “Could I die for something else?”, and the hook “but I jump in the fire…”, which has us reflecting on the human condition and the risks we take.

We have added Jump to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in Everything but the Everything‘s wider discography including The Story and Blue Sun.
