Met Montrel delivers vulnerability, authenticity and epic flow on Hitman

Setting the tone with an intricate, melodic soundscape, Met Montrel opens Hitman with intrigue and dimensionality as he delivers the curious lyrics, “Tell me what you’re thinking of…”

The opus evolves into a sexy, genre expansive experience with elements pop, trap and hiphop, cohesively intertwined to create a cerebral soundscape and allowing Met Montrel‘s exquisite and dynamic vocal delivery to shine as he shares his message.

Speaking on the story behind the track, Met Montrel confesses, “The old saying goes that the best music comes from life’s experiences. This song serves as that.”

He elaborates, “Originally, I was going through beats to write a slow love song about getting over someone who has hurt you. Needless to say, I was deep in my feelings about my own personal life and I needed to release those emotions.”

With his audience in mind, Met Montrel tells us, “Everyone has someone who they can’t let go of because of how the sex is. Hitman will be the single for those people.”

Hitman comes with a cinematic music video directed by Jackson Henderson, which features an epic performance by our protagonist as he brings to life the concept of the song.

We appreciate the depth, vulnerability and authenticity that Met Montrel shares with his artistry, and have added Hitman to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography including S.O.L. and Sunrise.
