Jenn Vix releases subversive and metaphorical new single, Mr. Strange

Setting the tone with an enigmatic, yet bright and dimensional soundscape, we are immediately transfixed by Jenn Vix‘s Mr. Strange as she sings, “Mr Strange, Mr Strange, we’ve got a thing, we’ve got a thing…”

We appreciate the charisma and autonomy that Jenn Vix performs with bringing to life her narrative drive tale, laced with metaphors and poetic prowess.

The synth pop extravaganza takes us on a visual trip through Jenn Vix‘s mind, body and spirit, and we appreciate her vocal range and tangible passion. Mr. Strange comes with a moody and cinematic music video giving Lars and the Real Girl vibes, but reversed and we are here to stan.

We learn that Jenn Vix is a multi-instrumentalist, adept at bass, lead guitar, synth, programming and vocals. She’s also collaborated with legendary musicians such as Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie, Tin Machine, The Cure) Andy Anderson (Iggy Pop, The Cure) and John Ashton (The Psychedelic Furs). Her voice is likened to Annie Lennox, along with the edgy spirit of Shirley Manson, Florence Welch, Halsey and Pink, but there is no doubt that she is creating a universe of her own.

We have added Mr. Strange to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Jenn Vix‘s wider discography including Shoplifting in Summertime, P T S D and Ride.
