Christine Greyson releases profound and metaphorical new single, Spider

Establishing the mood with a meditative vocal texture, expanding into a crisp beat with subversive electric guitar and astral synth, before we experience a bold and industrial energy, Christine Greyson opens Spider with atmospheric vocals, a luscious and immersive melody and conceptual, yet situational lyricism. We are in awe.

The opus evolves into an avant-garde, dark wave electronica energy, and we are hypnotized by the metaphorical journey that Christine Greyson takes us on with lyrics such as, “Spider spinning deadly lies, spinning, spinning all the time, one hand always in the fire, one hand seems so kind, makes you think you’re losing your mind, spider and the fly…”

With chaotic instrumental moments leading us into a cosmic energy as she sings about the spider and the fly, we are drawn into Christine Greyson‘s parallel universe with charisma and poetic nuance.

We learn that Spider is the first single from an upcoming EP scheduled for sometime next year. It has been inspired by Christine Greyson‘s unique decision to suddenly leave New York City and plant herself in the middle of the Appalachian wilderness.

She tells us that her adventure soon became both dangerous and spiritual; from coming face to face with a bear, to jumping into a rushing river during a flood-borne tornado in the mountains. Greyson confesses that these experiences filled her with new perspective and a darker take on nature; and the lyrics in Spider tells of the manipulations of a dishonest cohort.

We appreciate the depth that Christine Greyson shares with her artistry, and have added Spider to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to explore her wider discography including Folk Spell #11!
