Drawing us in with vibrant and rippling acoustic guitar, Chucky Trading Co open Your Freedom with the metaphorical lyrics, “When the wind is alive, when it whispers your name, when you live to survive, when you dance with the flame, I’m counting the days in your heartbeat, I’m living the nights in your mind, you can’t escape from your freedom, you can’t give me what is mine…”
Self-described by the duo as, “It’s as if Jimi Hendrix sat in on a Byrds session”, the opus evolves into classic sounding, acoustic rock adventure, and we are mesmerized.
We are always in awe of Chucky Trading Co‘s charismatic writing ability and their unique way of creating a meaningful narrative. Your Freedom is the perfect example of this as they deliver the incredible hook, “Your freedom will not save you today…”
Full of thought-provoking themes, we love the harmonies which add dimensionality, and the acoustic and rising electric guitar solos are simply out of this world. Written by CS Taber and produced by Everett Young, we learn that the electric guitar is performed by Steve Cunningham, sending us astral!
