We recently featured Wild Horse for their emotive and adventurous single, Joy Ride, so we couldn’t wait to hear their latest release, Bitter!
Establishing the mood with guitar riffs expanding into a luscious indie pop meets alternative rock energy, Wild Horse open Bitter with the situational lyrics, “Late night texts, you’re bored in the club right now, you want something to cry about…”
The opus expands into a narrative driven epic about “somebody wanting more from someone who just wants something casual, and the general mixed emotions and confusion having a casual partner can create.”
We appreciate the poetic nuance and the dramatisation of the situation, as Wild Horse deliver a meaningful message for self reflection and a thought-provoking subject matter that allows us to connect with the story and apply it to our own realities.
Fans of John Mayer, Harry Styles, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones will definitely be able to connect with Bitter, although there is no doubt that Wild Horse are cementing a vibe of their own.
Formed by brothers Jack and Henry Baldwin and best friend from primary school, Ed Barnes, Wild Horse have been relentlessly gigging since their teens. Still only just into their 20s, the band have recorded five studio albums that have earned enthusiastic support in BBC Intros, BBC local shows, RadioX, Caroline and many other local FM and internet stations around the world. They have even been BBC Intro Track Of The Day twice!
We love the authenticity that Wild Horse create with, and the charisma with which they perform. We have added Bitter to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography!
