SWATS seeks freedom on powerful, cathartic and anthemic new single, Anxiety

Setting the tone with immersive, panning synth textures with intricate percussive details, SWATS opens Anxiety with atmospheric vocals and the lyrics, “Won’t you let me be, feel I’m like drowning, against the wall, can’t breathe…” before expanding into an epic rap flow.

The opus starts off as a relationship song and builds with anthemic energy, as SWATS takes us on a meaningful journey with his sound and intricate lyricism into an assertive track where he establishes his boundaries.

Speaking on his release, SWATS describes his latest release as, “Mellow, yet intense, Anxiety feels like a relationship song, but finishes as an anthem for those who struggle with it.”

We appreciate the poetic nuance and depth of SWATS‘ lyricism, which even includes a verse in Spanish as he delivers the lines, “Hasta luego, cielo negro, yo estaba incompleto, viviendo con miedo, infierno yo hecho, no venga más, ahora déjame en paz, no molestas a cosas…”, which translates as the self aware an empowering, “See you later, black sky, I was incomplete, living in fear, I’ve been to hell, don’t come anymore, now leave me alone, don’t bother…”

The last lines of the song are “Finally gone, set free of anxiety…”, and it is clear that Anxiety is a cathartic relief for both artist and listener. SWATS‘ authenticity really shines through on the song, and we are obsessed.
