By now, you will know that we are super fans of Jane N’ The Jungle, having covered their powerful and cathartic anthem, DIRTY DOG and more recently, the conscious visual for Ocean Creatures, so we were excited to hear their brand new single, METAL GHOST!
Kicking off with their signature bold drums and a textured guitar frequency with hard rock chords, Jane N’ The Jungle open METAL GHOST with the conceptual lyrics, “You’re like stomach acid, spitting messes, where’s the tree you’re falling from? Over guessing, sloppy lessons, trying to teach but nothing comes…”
The opus expands in the dimensional, alternative rock soundscape that we have come to love from Jane N’ The Jungle with a nod to the classic elements of rock’n’roll. We appreciate Jordan White‘s vocal range and timbre, as she tells a story of “following your muse and falling in love with the unknown.”
The band add that METAL GHOST is “about being lost and not wanting to be found. It’s a metallic attitude with an open heart. The Metal Ghost is in all of us, waiting to be set free.”
We love the intention of the track and feel the liberating energy. We also learn that METAL GHOST was written on the night that Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison‘s death was announced, and is Jane N’ The Jungle‘s ode to rock’n’roll and its aesthetic.
It is no surprise that Jane N’ The Jungle have garnered support from outlets like MTV Spankin’ New, Music Choice, Spotify’s Fierce Femmes, All New Rock, Women of Rock; Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock, New in Rock and Fresh Blood with features in Wonderland, Alt Press, Women That Rock, Loud Women and The Hype Magazine. Rock radio has also taken notice of the rising band from Phoenix, and Jane N’ The Jungle have received support with spins on Matt Pinfield’s New and Approved KLOS FM Los Angeles, and Sirius XM.
We love their overall sound and authenticity, along with the emotive and inspiring nature of METAL GHOST, and have added the track to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Jane N’ The Jungle!
