By now you will know that we admire and support the artistry of Trav B Ryan, as we recently reviewed his emotive and empowering single, Through The Darkness, and the profound and intricate, The River, so we were thrilled to learn that he just released the brand new, Self Love.
Opening with cerebral, bold vocals and immersive keys, Trav B Ryan sets the mood for Self Love with intrigue and dimensionality. The opus expands with vocal add libs and the introspective question, “Why the hell I need you?” before Trav B Ryan sings the title of the track.
Self Love also features Rxdeboy, and expands with the lyrics, “This is self love, curses to the ones that never chose us, and this for the don all they gave us was the dust…”, as the duo take us on a subversive journey to find inner strength and establish a connection with ourselves.
We appreciate the authenticity of the narrative and the depth of the message. Self Love is needed more than ever for people to expand love from within themselves and amplify peace on planet Earth.
The rising star from New York tells us that Self Love is “a song about loving and understanding yourself. Sometimes you need to be your own support system to get through life.” Trav B Ryan adds the sage advice to, “Play this song everyday in front of the mirror when you wake up.”
We love the lyrics, “They tried to put me in a box, like I’m David Blaine…”, which really summarises the sunken place that many of us have found ourselves in, due to the system.
