Mark Wink releases profound and astral new single and visual, Down Down

Establishing the mood with a celestial synth and enigmatic melody, we are already hypnotized by Mark Wink‘s single, Down Down. The composition expands with a dimensional bass line and percussive details with textured vocal add libs before we experience atmospheric vocals singing the name of the track, “Down, down…”

Delivering an alternative pop meets soulful, cinematic, chill out energy, that could also fill a dance floor, we appreciate the transcendental vibe that Mark Wink is sharing. The artist from Vienna cites Barry White as a vocal reference and bands like Queen and Dire Straites as influences, although it is clear that Mark is creating a sound of his own.

The composition comes with an epic cinematic music video, which opens with a glistening satellite in outer space before we are on board a space craft, floating in the atmosphere before asteroids hit planet Earth.

An astronaut is sinking underwater with a submarine and oceanic life. Our protagonist continues to sink underwater, we see his perspective, fish swimming as a reflection of the eye of the ocean.

A jellyfish appears and we are transported to a music studio whilst glowing ocean life mesmerizes us further. A futurist eye opens, and we experience the sax solo of the opus in a studio scene before bight sun drenched optimism becomes the defining visual for the final scenes of the opus, when we experience the ocean once again.

We love the authenticity in Mark Wink‘s artistry, and are in awe of the visual representation of his universe and concept. Down Down has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Mark Wink‘s wider discography.
