Dream of a Man in a Top Hat share wisdom on subversive new single, All Time Is Borrowed Time

Setting the tone with industrial bass notes, textured, panning static details and percussive moments, whilst vocal add libs and a guitar crescendo hypnotize us, Dream of a Man in a Top Hat open their new single, All Time Is Borrowed Time with atmosphere and intrigue.

With a title as perhaps a nod to the iconic John Lennon, All Time Is Borrowed Time opens with synthetic vocals singing introspectively, “There’s only so much time… in your life…” as the song expands into a genre expansive trip.

The Boston-based duo self-describe as “equal parts psychedelic, post punk, and alternative rock”, and have already seen their songs placed in sixty Spotify playlists, and it is no surprise that they are on the rise.

Dream of a Man in a Top Hat make up two-thirds of Boston 80s post-punk band Native Tongue. Lee Leffler performs guitars, keyboards, vocals and writes lyrics, whilst Michael Frackleton plays drums, bass, percussion, keyboards, delivers vocals and also writes the songs.

We love subversive way that the duo creates with, fusing pyschdeldia, whirring bass lines, textured and layered vocals with a cohesive message and soundscapes that we rarely hear in music today.

We have added All Time Is Borrowed Time to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream their wider discography including Unfamiliar Streets and Shambling By The Sea.
