Sharl wants honesty and transparency on vibrant new single, Games

We recently wrote about Australian rising pop star, Sharl, for her thought-provoking and emotive single, That Girl, so we were thrilled to hear her latest release, Games!

To open the song, Sharl sings the lyrics, “They tell me love’s a game, I can play it like the best of them, just keep your distance and they’ll like you…” fused with a dimensional 80s guitar.

As Games evolves, the soundscape builds with additional guitar riffs, percussion and a glitch whilst Sharl sings on the hook about how she is sick of playing games.

Sharl makes a concise and refined commentary on how exhausting it can be to play mind games when you’re dating. Delivered through a hybrid lens of pop and hyperpop, Games features bright game tones that add an authentic energy to the song.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Sharl is rapidly establishing herself as a force to watch in the world of pop. An accomplished singer-songwriter, previously signed to a UK indie record label, Sharl has made an exciting re-debut in 2022 on her own terms as an independent artist, and we are here to stan.

Her upcoming album City Lights is due out later this year, and in the meantime, we have added Games to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue streaming Sharl‘s existing discography including That Girl and I Fell in Love.
