Fior releases vibrant, assertive and charismatic single and video for YOYO

Setting the tone with an enigmatic, melodic synth and vibrant, bouncing bass line, Fior opens her latest release, YOYO, with the assertive lyrics, “You don’t know how to stop bein’ a cockblock, too many years from then, you see me wylin, you see me looking good, and now you want in…”

YOYO, produced with Scott Storch, expands to deliver a quirky hybrid-disco sonic experience with lyrical highlights include the conceptual hook “Baby yo-yo you on yo own”, the self-assured “I live a better life, without you on my mind, not gonna let you in…” and the confident “I won’t apologize, for living my life”.

It is no surprise that Fior was recently named one of People magazine’s emerging artists to watch this Spring. We are in love with her textured vocals, harmonic detailing and funk meets disco meets soul vibe.

YOYO is accompanied by an epic music video directed by Alfredo Flores (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, JoJo, Rihanna, Selena Gomez) and sees our protagonist deliver a charismatic performance and choreography at the skate park, whilst she hangs with her friends and zones in on her muse.

Fior’s distinct, self-taught style was influenced by Billy Joel, Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Michael Jackson, but it is clear that she is creating a universe of her own.

We are here to stan and have added YOYO to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have also been streaming Fior‘s debut single, Let Me Go!
