New York’s Calvin Ryan delivers vibrant and thought-provoking new singles, High Stake Roller and Trying

Setting the vibe with an immersive soundscape fused with detailed high hats, cosmic textures and a vocal sample of a child, we are already obsessed with Calvin Ryan‘s collaborative single with Dugotii and Nephxw.

The song titled, High Stake Roller sees Calvin recount the story of the muse of the track as he delivers the lyrics, “Came up in New York, yeah she grew up on the East side, Jenny from the block always throwing up a peace sign, body got an aura, got my heartbeat on a decline…”

Taking us on a journey of intricate lyricism, High Stake Roller delivers thought-provoking musings on the protagonist of the song and the human condition.

Calvin also just released, the song Trying, which shows a more vulnerable side of the artist. The rising New York creative says,”Trying is emotional and relatable heartbreak song that everyone can belt and sing their hearts out to.”

Trying revolves around a broken relationship and the wrongdoer’s way of apologizing and saying sorry for his past actions.”

“I know I f***ed up at the party. I’m drowning all my sorrows in Bacardi” sings Calvin as the main character of the story admits his wrongs and tries to ease his pain.

We love Calvin Ryan’s dimensionality and have been immersing ourselves in his wider discography including Blind and Fabrics! We have added High Stake Roller to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
