Matt DeAngelis releases emotive and elegant EP, World I’m Comin’ For You

Setting the tone with classic rock drums and intricate piano fused with a vocal texture, Matt DeAngelis open his EP with the title track and lyrics, World I’m Comin’ For You.

Matt has a unique style which is reminiscent of some of the greats including Elton John and David Bowie. Matt’s vocal range and the variation cohesively fused within his style is quite iconic.

In the title track, Matt sings that there’s on “hunger on the ground”, and about how we have to stay devoted in a song paints a picture of not only the artist but the reality that we share.

So Fine is the second track on the EP, which opens with luscious piano and Matt singing how he needs a sweetness in his life, in his quest for a partner to share his time with.

The song is elegant and timeless, we love the chord progressions and soundscape details that really elevate the track. There are also additional female vocal harmonies on So Fine that elevate the story!

The third song, Mile Down The Road, gives us a more musical theatre vibe. Matt sings about what tomorrow might bring and is filled with conceptual celestial descriptors that have us hypnotized.

There is a saxophone solo that is poetic and fuses with Matt’s vocals seamlessly, we love the minor chord change and the dimension that it brings to the song.

Fourth is a song called Angel which opens with intricate piano and Matt’s endearing vocals as he sings “it’s all over now” about how his muse is free from this world. Angel, as a song of loss, has a sadness to it but is also filled with optimism. The strings are emotive and Matt’s upper register is flawless. The rising artist sings, “Heaven’s gained an angel today…”

The final track on the EP is called Maybe I which holds our attention with the lyricism of a confident protagonist who knows his place in the world. There is another saxophone appearance and we are enthralled. Matt sings with fortitude, “Maybe I should use my eyes“.

Speaking on the creation process of the record, Matt says, “I have been working on this EP for several years now and I am inspired and determined to spread my unique genre and sound to people who have not yet discovered my music. My intent is to spread positivity and inspire people with my sound. I was privileged to be able to record with legendary musicians on this record who believed in my compositions, including Liberty DeVitto and Richie Cannata, members of Billy Joel’s original band.”
