With glowing, bright and meditative production, iHATEJON opens his latest single iGOTME with the introspective and profound lyrics, “trying to find peace within myself”.
The song really captures us from the very start with the high end production, and the message is carried really beautifully and in a relatable way by iHATEJON (also we love the visual branding with the synergy between typography of song and artist name!).
He goes on, “I gotta hold me, can’t rely on no-one else, I am happy, I am whole”, “if you ain’t happy by yourself then you need to let them go”.
The delivery of the self love anthem is a vibe, we love the echoing vocal samples and the cannabis endorsement, which we fully support to help humanity heal.
When discussing the song, iHATEJON says, “This song is for me. I wrote and recorded this song in my bedroom in January 2021 amidst a breakup. I found myself feeling empty and incomplete without this person in my life. I finally realized that this co-dependency is not healthy and is not a product of love. It is a product of the absence of self love. I still struggle with loving myself but every time I revisit this song it reminds me that I am whole and encourages me to keep going. I want this song to do that for others as well.”
It really does just that, we feel like the artist is instilling some sage advice on our collective healing journey.
