Experience N4November’s refined chaos on Constant Reminder

A rising panning synth, whirring bass and refined guitar plucks set the tone for Constant Reminder, the latest single from Sydney-based emo-pop rising artist, N4November.

Constant Reminder serves as a follow up to N4November‘s 2021 debut of Dear Friend. The track was recorded in Rich Mammoliti of band Breakaway‘s home studio.

The Filipino-Chinese born Australian N4November, aka writer, guitarist and vocalist Alex, says they were initially was inspired by the chord progression and strumming pattern of the song ” Pieces” by Sum41, which comes to life on Constant Reminder with a futuristic yet nostalgic edge. Speaking on his reference, Alex says they were “stuck in a no-writing space at the time, and hearing the song brought something out in me”.

Lyrical highlights and wisdom from the Sydney-based rising emo icon include the opener, “the the things we a care for most, that destroy us“, and the introspective “do you hate me like I hate myself, tear me apart cos you know me too well“.

Speaking on the lyrics, N4November says, “this song is how I was feeling at the time, very emotionally raw, most lines don’t really match up to the previous ones, very messy thoughts of mine”.

There is aligned refinement in the perceived chaos and you can visualise Constant Reminder having synch deals in a Netflix series for sure.

Speaking on their artist name, “N4November is a name I decided to go under instead of my real name, Alex, because I didn’t want people to think of just me when listening to it, I want the listeners to adapt my songs to their lives.

Constant Reminder is about my very messy mind and doesn’t have a central theme to the song, because at the time when I was writing it, I just poured out whatever I was feeling, and that turns out I was feeling a lot of emotionally raw stuff.
