As a super fan of anything mildly terrifying in terms of experiences (from bungee to horror movies to endospheres), and as someone who has the DNA that is much closer to the equator than Northern Europe, I’m always fascinated by the idea of being in the Antarctic, if you think about what flat earthers believe particularly. So I went to the K-Spa at the iconic rockstar K West Hotel in West London for a facial and experienced the Men’s C+ Energy Facial which is created using products from Spanish brand founded in 1964 – Germaine de Cappuccino which is now one of the world’s leading skin care specialists, stocked in more than 20,000 spas and salons across 84 countries and top hotels and spas including the K Spa, duh.
The brand’s lab is situated in the hills of Alcoy, south of Spain where they house a team of scientists who are dedicated to the highest standards in skin care. You can 100% feel the science that has gone into this product range during and after the facial – for one, the facialist was also super symmetrical which always puts me at ease from an OCD POV, it’s like, at least I’m not constantly thinking “hi, you missed that groove under my lip” – that’s a really good sign. It has also been a sustainable brand forever, they categorically reject animal testing and the use of animal bi-products.
The great thing about getting a treatment at K-Spa is that you can access the gym, jacuzzi, saunas and what is actually London’s first snow paradise which is essentially a trip in the middle of your day to an episode of Game of Thrones. All in all, worth it.
