Last week, the Louis Vuitton New Bond Street Maison invited internationally acclaimed artist Tania Kovats to share her “Curated Shelf” – following in the footsteps of David Bowie, Yayoi Kusama, Tracey Emin, Juergen Teller and more. Tania’s Curated Shelf was exceptionally unique as she chose fifteen editions of only one book – “The Sea Around Us” by Rachel Carson – highlighting the importance of The Sea in Tania’s own work. Vuitton partnered with Tania Kovats on an intriguing journey around the world, collecting 80 samples of water from different seas and oceans – which is all now subsequently on display in Edinburgh. Pictured is Kovats’ sculpture ‘Colony’ – a mixed-media work created using barnacles – it is also on display at the Maison.
