It was just over three years ago when James Franco’s set of short stories dubbed Palo Alto was released. It was open to mixed criticism, but on a personal level, as someone who grew up in the suburbs of London, meant a lot to me – well at least, there was a lot that I could relate to.
Long story short, here is the official trailer for Gia Coppola’s take on Franco’s stories – Palo Alto. It just premiered in Telluride tonight. The movie stars Franco as a football coach who takes a romantic interest in teenage babysitter played by Emma Roberts; set amongst other intertwined stories from the shorts. One of the highlights, as you will note below is the phenomenal score with original music by Dev (Blood Orange) Hynes and Robert Schwartzman.
There is still an opportunity to get involved with the creation of additional stories from Palo Alto via Indiegogo, this includes directors Nina Ljeti, Vladimir Bourdeau, Bruce Thierry Cheung, and Gabrielle Demeestere to adapt and direct the following stories into three different feature films: Memoria (via “Memoria”, “Ivan” & “The deer”), Killing Animals (via “Killing Animals”, “Halloween”, “Lockedhead” and “Camp”), and Yosemite (via “Yosemite,” “Peter Parker” and “Grand Illusion”).
