As a brand, Peroni Nastro Azzurro has always strived to celebrate the arts through creative culture, from the recent Masters of Style exhibition at Somerset House in collaboration with Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Gucci, Missoni and Prada to their Italian style outdoor cinema installations back in 2011.
Last summer, the cultural enthusiasts created Opera di Peroni, an immersive introduction opera featuring various re-imagined works, and they’ve just brought it back in collaboration with producer and electronic artist extraordinaire Kwes of Damon Albarn, Zero 7, Lianne La Havas fame (and collective Go Opera) for Puccini’s La Rondine.
The experience itself is like no other, it isn’t in your traditional Pretty Woman opera setting (instead it takes place at Factory 7 in East London). There is almost an element of voyeuristic audience interaction with an incredible choreographed use of the space. Elements of techno creep into the show which are totally reminiscent of The Fifth Element and the ironic and questionable “fashion” subplot is kinda genius. Opera Di Peroni runs in London until 16 March, so you can still get involved.
