With a rather old school and somewhat classic twist, Christian Louboutin has been working with still life photographer Peter Lippmann, once again, to create a set of visuals for the AW11 campaign that are Loub-inspired by classic portraits from history including Marie-Guilleme Benoit’s “Portrait d’une Negresse” (see below), Jean Baptiste-Camille Corot’s “Portrait of a Girl”, Georges de la Tour’s “Magdalene and the Flame” (see below), Francois Clouet’s “Elizabeth of Austria”, Jean-Marc Nattier’s “Marquise D’Antin”, Francisco De Zurbaran’s “Saint Dorothy” and James McNeil Whistler’s “Whistler’s Mother” (see below).
