Establishing the mood with a glistening, descending synth line, Yulia opens Let’s Agree To Love with dimensionality and a funk-jazz adjacent soundscape. The opus expands with 8-bit psychedelic notions, sublime saxophone riffs, playful piano motifs and instrumental mastery.

We appreciate the optimistic dynamism of the piece, and the cinematic allure. There is no doubt that Let’s Agree To Love would be perfect for the opening sequences of a 90s romantic movie like Sleepless in Seattle, The Parent Trap, or My Best Friend’s Wedding. There is something comforting and transportive about the track, and we could also easily imagine it underscoring a montage in a Nancy Meyers-style romantic comedy, or even a reflective sequence in a Pixar film.

There is a warmth to the composition, alongside subtle nods to iconic video game soundtracks like Sonic the Hedgehog. Midway through, we experience a meditative, stripped back moment which allows for introspection before a drum riff rebuilds the track into its original dimensionality.

Speaking on the conscious message of the piece, Yulia confesses, “The title of this release came to me during a time when divisions between people felt especially visible. In that moment, I felt a deep need to reflect on what truly unites us beyond our differences. This music is a response to that – a reflection of love as a divine gift from God, the source of all true love, healing, and reconciliation. Through Him, love becomes a force that restores, unites, and transcends what separates us. My hope is that this work gently points listeners back to compassion, grace, and the presence of God’s love in their own lives, inspiring deeper connection with Him and with one another.”

We learn that Yulia composed the piece, and performs the piano and keyboard parts. She also serves as producer and arranger. The track also features Billboard #1 smooth jazz saxophonist Jackiem Joyner, plus David Haynes on drums, Sekou Bunch and Tim Bailey Jr. contributing bass performances, and Jay Soto on guitar. The track was mixed and mastered by four-time Grammy Award-winning engineer Tre Nagella at Luminous Sound Studio in Dallas.
