Wish Queen sings the charming, situational lyrics, “It’s been two weeks of glancing, I think we should go dancing, trying to feel it as we go…”, with a charismatic tone as she invites her muse to move with her and delivers the narrative of the composition.

We learn that sub rosa is written by Cleveland-based producer Muzzy Fossa whilst lyricist and powerhouse vocalist, Wish Queen brings her exquisite energy to the track.

We appreciate the poetic nuance that Muzzy Fossa and Wish Queen deliver with the opus, as well as the intricacies of the production, particularly the harmonies and divergent drum patterns which manifest in a unique identity for the composition.

sub rosa comes with a vintage-style music video, with cinematography by Issac Bixel, and directed alongside the artists, where we see Muzzy Fossa and Wish Queen deliver charming performances in line with the sonic energy of the piece. We are also obsessed with the choreography by Audrey Gerlach!

For some background on the artists, Wish Queen is a brand new musical project by Grace Sullivan of Cleveland, Ohio. Wish Queen cites artists including Rosalia, Julia Jacklin, and Ethel Cain as some of her influences, but it is clear that she is creating a sound and vibe of her own. Wish Queen is currently working on her debut 8 song solo-album, SATURNALIA which will be released in Spring of 2023.

Muzzy Fossa is Cleveland-based producer Nathaniel Hunt. Muzzy aims to be genre-breaking, immersive and nostalgic, with an overhaul of sound and movements. This really comes through on sub rosa. He has been working with various artists in order to share his cinematic and expansive sound with the world.
