Last year, we started following the rise of Cosmiq, and our obsession with his artistry grew with every listen. Naturally, we wanted to start the new year with an energy that felt celestially aligned, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in Cosmiq‘s latest release, Troublemaker, this time in collaboration with Lana.

The track opens with a tropical melody and astral vocalizations, expanding with a textured beat and the lyrics, “I see you there with the fire in your eyes, spinning me dizzy like Tequila Sunrise…”. We immediately connect with the sun-kissed energy and seductive nature of the song.

We feel at one with the cinematic narrative that is unfolding, and as always, Cosmiq‘s music is filled with intention and precision. Lana‘s vocals are perfection and actually feel very human. We love the relatable nature of the story and could imagine the song landing a multitude of sync placements – perhaps a Love Island or Perfect Match episode!

The metaphors in the lyrics, particularly in the second verse, are brilliant, and the timeless evolution of the track feels familiar, yet contemporary – this is in part to the masterful production skillset that Cosmiq delivers.

The middle eight is a mediative moment with keys, subtle percussion, looped ad-libs of the hook that expand into a dynamic final reprise. The artist cites Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Rema, J Balvin, and Kygo as sonic influences, which map out perfectly.

As for the message, Cosmiq adds, “Troublemaker was created around the idea of playful chemistry – that electric moment when flirtation, confidence, and rhythm collide. The track captures the mood of a late-night encounter, the kind where the lights get low, the beat takes over, and trouble feels just a little too tempting. It’s about embracing confidence, letting your guard down, and stepping into a vibe that feels bold, sensual, and fun.”
