<p>Setting the tone with hums fused with percussive textures and a soft guitar, <strong>Totemo</strong> opens <strong><em>My Gravity</em></strong> with the lyrics, <em>&#8220;Love what you&#8217;ve done with the place, really cleaned up the space&#8230;&#8221;</em> as she sings about a visit to her ex&#8217;s apartment. </p>

<p><strong>Totemo</strong>&#8216;s voice is luscious, smooth, charismatic and delivered with a sense of wisdom as she narrates her perspective, visiting the place she used to share with her former lover. </p>

<p>Expanding on the experience, <strong>Totemo</strong> says &#8220;The one thing that struck me in particular was how all the plants we had planted together had died during this short period, and in their stead, he got in the habit of filling up the house with flowers, which requires less care, and are short lived.&#8221; </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1208" height="1208" src="https://i2.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?fit=1020%2C1020&amp;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-26814" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?w=1208&amp;ssl=1 1208w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=632%2C632&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=1020%2C1020&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=768%2C768&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=100%2C100&amp;ssl=1 100w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=1536%2C1536&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Screenshot-2022-05-13-at-16.47.55.png?resize=2048%2C2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure></div>

<p>&#8220;I thought this metaphor was just staring me in the face, and I had to put it in a song. it helped me make sense of the whole situation&#8221;, continues <strong>Totemo</strong> when discussing the inspiration for her intricate lyricism, as she sings, <em>&#8220;flowers everywhere, but no roots in the ground&#8230;&#8221;</em></p>

<p>We love the conceptual nature of the hooks, and how <strong>Totemo</strong> delivers her evocative and poetic lyricism, whilst the guitar and percussion guides us forward, but also keeps us in a state of gravitational flux. </p>

<p><strong>My Gravity </strong>has been added to our New Music Spotlight<strong> </strong>playlist, and is taken from <strong>Totemo</strong>&#8216;s EP<strong> <a href="https://open.spotify.com/album/3itEvlspdLfutvday1E9CH?si=h0R7GFmFT-iT7YVjenixpw" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Keep Burning</a></strong>, which we have been exploring!</p>
